Ambassadors of Sudan, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Turkey arrived in Somalia’s newly created Northeast State this week to attend the inauguration of the region’s leadership. A former senior Sudanese intelligence source said the Sudanese-Saudi-Egyptian rapprochement should not be dismissed as circumstantial coordination. Military forces stormed the Breka Moussa area, east of Hammadi, a military source said. A second military source said RSF forces stormed the area after destroying defenses, but the military recaptured it within hours and pursued RSF fighters to the outskirts of Bara. Three Chadian military sources told Mada Masr that RSF forces crossed into Chadian territory and attacked military positions on January 15.
